Alexandra Shorey

Concept
My work is about the relationship I have with horses, how they make me feel, their movements and forms of communication. I strive to capture the emotional sensitivity of the animal through body language and gesture.
I work with a variety of media and processes, including welded steel and burnt material. The use of fire in creating my work is both a means of expressing personal ideas as well as providing a unique working method that gives each piece the appearance of cast metal.
I work both small and large scale for indoor and outdoor settings, as well as limited editions and one-off bronzes.
