Concept

Currently my practice is concerned with use of prosaic, discarded or overlooked objects that are present in my everyday domestic and studio environment. Using these as a starting point i work in a loop with digital photography, sculpture and painting to create and record scenarios or relationships between objects. This is intrinsically informed by historical pictorial devises that have been used particularly in painting to describe the dialectic between subject and object, representation and perception. In my work i hope to challenge, with some humour, the viewer’s expectations about what they recognize and what is seen to be represented.
